How do I stay fit to sail after a heart attack and open-heart surgery?

After a lifetime of successful business building and helping business leaders “Navigate the tricky bits” I encountered some roadblocks that caused me to pause and reflect on what is important and what is not.

I asked myself the question “What do I value most? and How does that reflect in the way I spend my time?”

40 years ago I built a beautiful little wooden boat I named Moonlight. You can watch the story about building and sailing Moonlight by subscribing to my Youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/c/SailingMoonlight

A couple of years back, I dragged the covers off Moonlight and set out on a hardcore camping and sailing open dinghy cruise on the Great Sandy Strait to the West of Fraser Island I was earnestly seeking answers to some big questions. My emotions were exposed and raw, and I was tested to the core both physically and mentally in what became a Bootcamp sailing adventure.

I started recording a video blog (vlog). I reengaged with my passion for photography and writing. And I rediscovered the pure exhilaration of sailing on the edge.

As I shared my story, wearing my heart on my sleeve, I found there were many others who sail, or would like to sail that identified with the visual storytelling about building, fixing up and of course the pleasure of sailing small sailboats on a shoestring. I get a deep satisfaction out of inspiring others to sail and have made a lot of new friends along the way.

“Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing–absolutely nothing–half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.” Wind in the Willows

Some serious health issues threatened to shorten my career so I made several lifestyle changes that will ensure I can sail and encourage others to sail into our eighties and well beyond. I invite you to come on the journey with me to discover your own unique passion and calling. I look forward to getting to know you as we connect and share from the heart.

Here is one of the major health keys I discovered while working with an amazing client.

So what are my core values? Celebrating Life with God, Family, Friends. I think that’s it in a nutshell.
